Some guests come here simply to sit by the fire, walk the farm, listen to the woods, and enjoy the privacy. Others like to use the campsite as a quiet home base while exploring the wider region.

Hocking Hills Region

For a full day trip, the Hocking Hills region is one of the best-known outdoor destinations in Ohio. It is famous for its rock formations, deep hollows, caves, waterfalls, hiking trails, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, zip lines, and scenic drives. Popular stops in the region include places such as Old Man’s Cave, Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, and the surrounding state park areas.
This is a good option for campers who want a bigger hiking or sightseeing day before returning to the quiet of the farm in the evening. Hocking Hills can be busy during peak seasons, so it is wise to plan ahead, bring good walking shoes, and give yourself plenty of daylight.

Athens, Ohio

Athens is a lively college town and a good destination for restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, small local shops, farmers markets, music, and cultural events. It is also home to Ohio University, with a walkable campus and an old-town feel.

Jackson, Ohio

Jackson offers a smaller-town stop with restaurants, local shopping, history, and access to nearby outdoor areas. The Jackson County area promotes a mix of small-town charm, outdoor adventure, local dining, entertainment, and regional history.
It can be a practical stop for campers who want to explore another part of southeastern Ohio without getting too far from the rural character of the area.

Pomeroy sits along the Ohio River and is one of the most scenic small river towns in the region. Visitors can enjoy the riverfront, historic downtown feel, local dining, small shops, and seasonal events. Meigs County also has local food, arts, history, and community attractions that reflect the character of the Ohio River valley.
For guests who enjoy old river towns, courthouse squares, backroads, and small local stops, Pomeroy is worth considering.
